EU research

On 16 May 2024, Frontex (the European Border and Coast Guard Agency) will organise an Info Day to present the Research Grants Programme, its flagship research financial support scheme. If you are a representative of a non-profit research organisation or academic institution pursuing technological research and looking for a co-funding opportunity, we invite you to join the Info Day to explore and learn more about what Frontex Research and Innovation has to offer in 2024.

In 2022, Frontex successfully launched the first call for proposals and awarded grants of the total value of EUR 240 000 to four distinctive applicants. All research projects co-financed by Frontex are non-profit and focus on developing innovative, future-oriented technologies tailored to assist border and coast guards in their various areas of responsibility. This Info Day will be an opportunity to gain information on a new call to be launched in the second half of 2024, its objectives, research areas of interest, and much more. The overall goal is to familiarise potential applicants with the Programme and facilitate the application process. In order to ensure equal treatment, information provided during the event will be published on the Frontex website.  

• The event will take place on 16 May (10:00 -13:00) at the Frontex Headquarters in Warsaw, Poland. In order to facilitate attendance, Frontex is prepared to reimburse travel, accommodation, and daily subsistence expenses. Online participation is not foreseen.

Interested non-profit organisations and academia are kindly requested to register one participant under the link.

• Registration is open until 10 May 2024 and will be reviewed on a rolling basis (first come – first served) until meeting capacity is reached.

• Please do not make any travel arrangements before receiving confirmation of participation with Frontex’s reimbursement rules.
