Frontex believes in investing in learning and development, to make our organisation and individual staff members more effective in achieving our goals. The expertise of our staff members is crucial for Frontex.

We aim to ensure that Frontex staff members:
- have the knowledge, skills and
competencies they need to do their job effectively and to be prepared for
future career development;
- have the flexibility to adapt, to
learn and to lead change, and
- work effectively together, in
co-operation with Member States, non-EU countries, our institutional partners
and Europe’s citizens.
Frontex emphasises learning from various
opportunities around us and learning throughout your entire career, through
methods including:
- on-the-job training;
- feedback and coaching;
- informal learning and learning from
colleagues;
- self-learning;
- formal training courses.
We provide various types of formal training
courses for our staff, including:
- a full week of induction training,
providing an opportunity for newcomers to get to know each other and top management
- in-house general training, such as
soft skills, financial and IT training;
- in-house fundamental rights
training;
- in-house language courses in a
number of EU languages (English, French, German, Italian, Polish, Spanish) and
reimbursement of the cost of language courses for staff posted outside the
Frontex headquarters in Warsaw;
- external specific job-related
training.
We also give staff access to various online
learning materials (including e-learning courses, videos, articles, podcasts,
links) developing soft, financial and IT skills. Materials are available for
you at the learning platform EU Learn. You can be assisted in identifying your
learning needs by the HR Business Partners assigned to your division.
