Frontex welcomes applications of staff from public administrations of EU Member States, the administrations of Schengen Associated Countries (SACs), candidate countries, public intergovernmental organisations (IGOs) and independent universities or research organisations that do not seek to make profit for redistribution. Staff from international organisations and third countries may be accepted if the Frontex Executive Director grants a derogation by a reasoned decision. Secondments of SNEs in Frontex can be from a minimum three months up to five years. At least three years of relevant working experience, good communication in English (minimum level: B2 according to CEFR) and the ability to work in a multicultural environment are essential.
The SNE’s employer continues to pay his/her salary, to maintain his/her employment and/or administrative status throughout the period of secondment and continue to be responsible for all his/her social rights, particularly social security and pension.
In addition, an SNE is entitled to a daily subsistence allowance and to a monthly subsistence allowance (throughout the period of the secondment) and to a reimbursement of the costs of the travel between his/her place of origin and the place of secondment at the beginning and at the end of the secondment period.
Applications shall be forwarded by Permanent Representations of Members States, by SACs competent authorities and, where provided for in an Open call for Seconded National Experts, the diplomatic missions of the non - EU Member States whose nationals are eligible for the secondment and the administrations of the IGOs.
